Bourbon BBQ Grilled Oysters
Summer isn’t over yet! If you’re firing up the grill for burgers and dogs, throw some oysters on for a delicious appetizer. Below one of our favorite grilled oyster recipes - it’s quick & easy to make, and a delicious crowd pleaser for any summer get-together.
Ingredients
24 shucked oysters
1 tbsp of your favorite BBQ sauce
1 tbsp of bourbon or whiskey of your choice
1 tsp. minced garlic (2-3 cloves)
2 tsp chili pepper (we really like this brand)
1 stick of unsalted butter, melted
This makes about 1/2 cup, which is enough for 2-3 dozen oysters. If you have leftover butter, you can freeze it for your next batch!
Directions
Preheat your grill to medium-high, or use a charcoal grill like we did. Shuck your oysters and set them aside.
In a medium bowl, mix all the ingredients together, and spoon about a tablespoon of mixture onto each oyster.
Carefully place the topped oysters directly on the grill.
Cover the oysters and keep them grill until the butter is nice and bubbly, about 3-4 minutes.
Serve & enjoy straight off the grill!
