Where to Find 401 Oyster Company in 2024

We’re excited to be kicking off another busy season with more festivals, farmers markets and other events than we’ve ever participated in before. Because why not go all-in? The people need to have their oysters!

Keep reading below for a list of what we have in the lineup so far, and be sure to follow us on Instagram and sign up for our email newsletter to be the first to know about any other happenings.

And no party is complete without oysters… if you have a wedding, backyard gathering or special event that you’re wanting to have a raw bar at, inquire here for a custom proposal. We do still have some availability for the summer and fall! 

Last year at the Charlestown Seafood Festival, Newport Folk Festival and Outstanding in the Field. 

Newport Oyster & Chowder Festival 

When: Saturday May 18th & Sunday May 19th from 11:00am - 6:00pm 

Where: Bowen’s Wharf in Newport, Rhode Island 

Details: Admission is free, and all oysters, food and drinks are available for purchase directly from the vendors. Since this festival is primarily oyster focused, it’s a great opportunity to try oysters from over 15 other Rhode Island oyster farms 

RI Grown Farmer’s Market 

Where: Fishermen’s Memorial State Park in Narragansett, Rhode Island

When: Every Sunday from 8:30-12:00 starting Memorial Day Weekend and going into the fall 

Details: THIS JUST IN! We often get asked where locals can pick up a few dozen of our oysters to enjoy at home, so we are excited to join one of the best farmer’s markets in the state where you can do just that. We will start off selling just our Breachway Oysters (unshucked), but plan on adding in some of our homemade sauces and other fun goodies as the season goes on! 

DAVEAPALOOZA

When: Saturday, July 13 from 12pm-6

Where: Proclamation Ale Taproom, Warwick RI

Details: Proclamation’s 4th Annual event to celebrate the life of their founder Dave Witham with beers, food trucks, a raw bar, live music and other vendors. Tickets to the event range in price from $5-$15.

Newport Folk Festival

When: Friday July 26th, Saturday July 17th, and Sunday July 28th

Where: Fort Adams in Newport

Details: Our raw bar will be set up exclusively for artists & crew in The Anchor Tent. This is a weekend we truly look forward to each year and are excited to reconnect with our oyster-loving folks who rave about our raw bar year after year! Check out last year’s recap here on Instagram. 

Charlestown Seafood Festival 

When: Friday August 2nd from Noon-11:00pm, Saturday August 3rd from 11:00am - 11:00pm, and Sunday August 3rd from 11:00am - 10:00pm

Where: Ninigret Park in Charlestown, Rhode Island 

Details: Our booth will be set up with a full raw bar of our Breachway oysters, littleneck clams and cocktail shrimp, and we even have a few other new food items up our sleeve… stay tuned for the full menu!

Outstanding in the Field 

When: Thursday August 22nd at 3:00pm

Where: Watson Farm in Jamestown, Rhode Island 

Details: OITF is an experiential farm dinner that we are excited to be invited back to for the second year in a row. We’ll have our raw bar set up at cocktail hour, which will be followed by a stellar meal prepared by Chef Renee Touponce of Port of Call and Oyster Club, served in the sprawling fields of Watson Farm that overlook Narragansett Bay. This is a ticketed event which can be purchased directly from Outstanding in the Field’s Website. 

Rhythm and Roots

When: Friday August 30th from 4:00 to 11:00 pm, Saturday August 31st from Noon - 11:00pm and Sunday September 1st from Noon - 11:00pm

Where: Ninigret Park in Charlestown, Rhode Island 

Details: Oysters pair really well with live music and cold drinks. We’ve been thinking about doing Rhythm and Roots for a while now (after all, it’s right in our backyard here in Charlestown) so this will be a new one for us! 

Rhode Island Seafood Festival

When: Saturday September 7th from 11:00am - 7:00pm, and Sunday September 8th from 11:00am - 5:00pm 

Where: India Point Park in Providence, Rhode Island 

Details: This was a fun one last year! The festival truly focuses on local seafood and has a great selection of vendors. 

Niantic Bay Oyster Festival

When: Saturday, September 21st from Noon- 6:00pm 

Where: St. John’s Green in Niantic, Connecticut. 

Details: This will be another new one for us, but we’re looking forward to representing Rhode Island oysters in CT! All proceeds from the event benefit the Miracle League of Southeastern CT. 

Ocean State Oyster Festival

When: Fall 2024 - Date TBD

Where: Providence, Rhode Island 

Details: An annual, fun one-day event that celebrates the booming aquaculture industry in our state. More details to come on this one. 

Bowen’s Wharf Seafood Festival

When: Saturday October 19th and Sunday October 20th from 11:00am - 6:00pm

Where: Bowen’s Wharf in Newport, Rhode Island

Details: Offering local seafood of all sorts, there’s something for everyone at this festival. It’s always a great way to close out the season! 

You can also regularly find our oysters served at local restaurants throughout the state including Midtown Oyster Bar, High Hope Tavern, Matunuck Oyster Bar, Cork & Rye and The Landing, and at select raw bars across the East Coast.
